CHPHP Outreach for
People in Need

The calls for help are pouring in to CHPHP from social workers trying to help their clients in need.  We recently received a call about the "Sanson" Family whom CHPHP has helped when they lived in a motel in Culver City.  CHPHP volunteers had brought canned and packaged food, clothing, toys and books to this family with three young children. Through the Sanson family, CHPHP volunteers were able to help to three other families in need. At Thanksgiving, we delivered wonderful Thanksgiving In A Box baskets to all of the families and Gift Certificates for Food to all of the families at the Winter Holiday time.
Unfortunately, there was a break-in into their apartment at the motel.  The Sanson Family had to leave and they became homeless.  We discussed and recommended the limited resources that are available for the Sanson Family.  Also, we pledged to help in every way CHPHP can - including sharing food with the Sanson Family during our regular Monday CHPHP Routes for Homeless People!
When we asked the social worker how she heard about CHPHP, she replied, "Oh, the Sanson Family had such wonderful things to say about how CHPHP had helped them in the past so we just had to call."
On behalf of the Sanson Family, we sincerely thank all of our donors and volunteers who make this help possible!  Thank you!

Did You Know?   Every night in Los Angeles County there are over 84,000 children, women and men who are homeless.  This 1993 number, published in 1994, has increased 9-13% a year, the greatest percent of increase being in the number of homeless children and women.  Shelter Partnership
